Hello, Can Anyone Hear Me?

I have been calling for the longest time

My voice, troubled with trepidation

I have thunderously cried out

The echoes reached far and wide

But my vent has become hoarse and weak

Turning every word into a whisper

And as that whisper turns into silence

That’s when I take heed of a response!

It’s closer and clearer than springwater

Poking the void like a sharp needle

It’s a little too late, though.

As I can voice air, but not sound

I can’t let myself be heard for you to find

My voice has lost all its might

You’ll now know not what I longed to say to you

Because I can let myself be heard no more

And you know not where to find me

We are caught up in confusion

Let’s listen to each other’s voices.

Respond when someone cries out to you.

Because when they go silent,

We’ll never know what they desired

And we’ll never tell them what we wish for
